Oh look, another insight into TES/Thief crossover with my Argonian (and where only my Argonian appears as TES-part, he he he).
And at this part I would say the same I said to Bazzkorg about her being inconsistant throughnout the missions you take as Garrett while playing Thief: Gold (since she doesn`t appear in TMA or TDS, instead Matha appears in TDS both as her original wyvern self and as a human girl having glyph symbols bound on her skin in order to prevent her from retaking the wyvern form again. Until the Glyph magic disappears that is
) - she appears in the middle of Haunted Cathedral mission, is present in Mage Towers and The Lost City missions, could debatably be present in Return To The Cathedral, is missing from Escape and the good part of Strange Bedfellows (where she resurfaces again in the middle of it) and is fully present in Into The Maw of Chaos final mission. So yeah, inconsistancy because hey, it`s relevant (as I doubt that she would be able to sneak as easily as Garrett could in Undercover and Song of the Caverns missions) and also because the game is always seen through Garrett`s eyes (eye in the last 3 missions), thus it`s bond that characters he meets will be mostly inconsistant through missions he (and we) take. I mean Cutty and Ramirez? Yeah.
Of course the mission appearances don`t count into her cameo/background appearances because in the case of latter she could appear far more times than in the mission ones (where Garrett interacts with her), as at that time the master thief doesn`t know who is she or where is she, thus he could potentially meet her and not know that that was her
In that case her most famous cameo appearance would be in Downwinder Thieves Guild where she could be seen in the mess hall eating and later arguing with a random Downwinder about mysterious thefts that are happening in the Guild itself (that she is blamed of, but are really Garrett`s doing ).
Of course those are all my views and you can agree to disagree, just don`t be an ass ... or a troll because I hide nothing.

And yes, I know that she seems too small when compared to the wall there, lol. But hey, she could be crouch-running because of her "weird"-looking legs
