Description

The date of this photo is 28.3.2014.

This is to show that comparing to European spruce (Picea abies) that was mostly lying on the ground and being attacked by bark beetles already (because I had seen their galleries on both bark and wood), the Common Beech was not that damaged in the glaze ice. Some of them had maybe been broken off or even bent in the shape of an archway (!), but most of them, like this photo shows, weren`t even significantly damaged, even though they have their tops broken off.
Why?
Because they are notorious in swift regrowing, so after around a year, it would look like the glaze ice never existed to them o_o and yes, they have the broken side branches and tops because it`s their natural strategy - better sacrifice their branches than fall off/die themselves.

Beech be badass like Terminator! Except some old ones or those that were not stabile, these had mostly fallen down.
